A New and Better Release Site is Coming

There's been a lot of discussion about the Cass City release site in the last few years. While some hunters tell us it's their favorite spot, we've also heard complaints — too small, not enough parking, and too wet at times.

During a meeting with MPHI, the Game Bird Breeders, and Adam Bump (DNR Small Game Specialist), a new site was offered up by the DNR. We were cautiously optimistic, so we made the drive to investigate firsthand. We believe this site is a significant upgrade — more land, better hunting conditions, and plenty of parking.

This new area will also allow the game bird breeders to release roosters more strategically across the property, rather than concentrating them in a single location.
